Ok, the old PICList.com server is down, and the new one is up.
I'm still sorting through all the stupid errors, but it seems to be working
and archiving emails, serving FAQ pages and so on. It's quite a bit faster,
probably due to the new 10,000 RPM hard drives and the RAID 0 array for data
(RAID 1 for the OS).
If you see something that seems wrong, please let me know? Thank you!
One thing that worries me: Did we really have NO posts at all on Sunday
4/15? I know that happens, but it's rare. If you have a moment, please check
and see if that is right, and if I'm missing emails let me know. Don't
forward missing emails unless you know how to forward the HEADERS as well as
the email body, please? Thanks!

I show 12 posts on Sunday April 15. All but three were the Nuc power plant discussion plus three on PC motherboard discussion.
Thanks for all your hard work James.

Any chance you could send those to me /including/ the headers? Let me know
what email program you use and I'll try to find instructions on how to get
to the headers.

Thanks John,
If you would send me those missing messages, including the headers, I'd be
very appreciative.

James,
I on a mac and use the Mac Mail program
Let me know how I can help.
Would copying them, headers and all into a text file work for you?
Or how about forwarding them back to the list?

I am using Thunderbird. If I copy the "view source" pages will you get what you want?

What I did was:
View > Headers > All
then Forward
:)

Oh, and that's with Thunderbird on WinXP.

Thanks John,
I believe Carls answer is correct: View > Headers > All

Thanks David,
I have ZERO MAC experience, but this is what I found on the internet:
http://8help.osu.edu/1327.html
"Click the View pull-down menu, and then choose Message and Long Headers"
Apparently you can forward the message with those headers shown from that
screen.
Saving them to a file would also be fine with me.
Forwarding them back to the list would not help.
Thanks again.

I have sent what I think I have. Getting old has led to slower thinking and shorter days for me.
It is a little strange that the only list messages I have on the 4-15 date are those with [TECH] parameter...

I had noticed that [TECH} was the only postings that day, and 3 of those were mine. Hadn't really thought things were goofy, just one of those things. Maybe good weather, girl friend's to do list, or what ever. :) :)

Many (many) thanks to those who sent me the posts which were missed on the
14th during the change over and especially to Josh who checked over the work
and found a couple more that I had missed.
I also found and fixed a REALLY annoying bug in the archive browser which
would put the first word of the post just before any links in the post. That
one was driving me nuts before the server replacement and it was still with
me today, so I dug in and finally got it.
So far the new server seems screaming fast, searching is generally quite
quick and I've reduce the search delay to once per 15 second vice the 20
seconds it used to be.
The generic search box at the piclist.com home page now searches the entire
site, giving FAQ pages preference and then archive posts after that. So if
you search for "LED" you are going to get pages from the site, and not from
the archive.
If you really just want to search the archive only, go into the archive
first, http://www.piclist.com/techref/postbot.asp
and use the "Search (Full Text)" form from the List Post Browser.
And after each search, there is a link to change it to the other sort of
search if you like.
Searches return the top 100 results, but there is no way to continue on to
the next set of 100... I still haven't figured out how to do that with the
new system... perhaps as time allows.
Anyway, thanks again for all your support so far, and for being the best
list on the net!
